Johnvents Group has unveiled its sustainability roadmap as part of efforts to strengthen its commitment to environmental responsibility, social impact and good corporate governance across its operations.
The multinational agribusiness and manufacturing company disclosed this in its inaugural Sustainability Report, which provides an overview of its sustainability performance and outlines its long-term strategy for achieving transparent, accountable and sustainable growth.
The report, covering the 2025 reporting period, was prepared in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) 13: Agriculture, Aquaculture and Fishing Sectors 2022 Standard. It also incorporates a Double Materiality Assessment aligned with the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).
According to the company, the report provides a consolidated review of sustainability activities across its subsidiaries, including Johnvents Foods, Johnvents Industries, Premium Cocoa Products, Ile-Oluji and Noble-Eagle.
Founder and Group Managing Director of Johnvents Group, John Alamu, described the report as a significant milestone in the company's journey towards responsible growth.
Alamu said the publication marked the beginning of a new phase in the way the company measures, manages and reports its environmental and social impact while remaining accountable to its stakeholders.
He added that the company would focus on strengthening implementation, improving governance, expanding sustainability initiatives across its value chain and building a resilient and globally competitive business.
As part of its sustainability efforts, Johnvents Group said it had screened more than 50,000 farms to identify and monitor deforestation risks.
The company also said it had intensified the implementation of its 150,000 Cocoa Farmers Empowerment Programme while expanding farm-to-warehouse traceability systems to meet the requirements of the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) and Rainforest Alliance certification.
The sustainability report further highlighted the establishment of the group's first greenhouse gas inventory in line with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, as well as improvements in climate governance and deforestation risk management.
It also noted the implementation of the company's Environmental and Social Action Plan (ESAP) as part of efforts to strengthen its environmental and social performance.
On governance, Johnvents said it had enhanced its corporate structure through board-level oversight and specialised functions covering responsible sourcing, sustainable finance, carbon management, compliance, and occupational health and safety.
Group Executive Director, Tarun Chawla, said sustainability had become an important part of business performance and long-term value creation.
Chawla said the report demonstrated the company's progress in building stronger sustainability systems while reinforcing its commitment to responsible operations and creating shared value for its stakeholders.
Johnvents Group said it would continue to invest in resilient agricultural value chains that support farmers, employees, customers, investors, host communities and the environment.
The company added that transparent reporting and continuous improvement would remain central to its sustainability journey as it works towards building a more responsible and sustainable business.
