There were shockwaves in the ancient town of Ogbagi-Akoko, Ondo State, on Thursday morning after the Owa of Ogbagi, Oba Victor Adetona Ojo, was physically assaulted by a suspected phone thief within the palace premises.

Eyewitness accounts indicated that the suspect, identified as Tope Adelani, allegedly attacked the monarch after being confronted over the theft of his mobile phone, leaving the royal father with multiple injuries

Sources within the community disclosed that Adelani had earlier gained access to the palace and reportedly stole the monarch’s phone unnoticed before quietly exiting the premises.

In a dramatic twist, the suspect was said to have returned to the palace shortly after the alleged theft, a development that raised suspicion and led to his being questioned by the monarch.
