‎Residents of the Pelebe area in Ogunti Camp, Akure, Ondo State, were thrown into panic following a late-night attack by suspected kidnappers who abducted a woman and shot her husband.

‎The gunmen were said to have stormed the quiet settlement under the cover of darkness, firing sporadic gunshots that forced residents to flee their homes for safety.

‎Sources in the community said the couple was outside their residence when the attackers struck. During the attack, the husband was reportedly shot by the assailants and left wounded, while his wife was forcibly taken away to an unknown destination.

‎The injured man was later taken to a nearby hospital where he is currently receiving treatment.

‎The attack has heightened fears among residents of the area, many of whom are calling on security agencies to strengthen security presence and patrols in the community.
