Jamiu Olawale and his wife, who were kidnapped from their home in Ilu Abo, Akure North Local Government Area, have been released after spending four days in captivity.

The couple was abducted last Friday shortly after returning from work. A family source, speaking anonymously, confirmed that their freedom was secured on Tuesday night following the payment of a ₦5 million ransom.

“They are back home safe. We are relieved and thankful for their release,” the relative said.

The incident has intensified fears over insecurity in parts of Ondo State, prompting calls from community leaders for heightened vigilance and stronger security presence.

Security agencies have yet to release an official statement on the kidnapping and subsequent release.
